FLUID LEVEL GAUGE—SGR SERIES

Fluid Level Gauge (SGR Series) can be used on any reservoir containing mineral and petroleum-based hydraulic fluid to indicate oil level. It is ideally suited to hydraulic reservoirs in industrial, marine and mobile equipment, gear boxes, lubrication oil tanks and crank cases.

The Fluid Level Gauge:

is available in five sizes – 3″, 5″, 7″, 10″ and 14″ between bolt centres.

Is of a new-age design with ‘O’ ring sealing.

has a sturdy and low profile outer case.

is ready for immediate installation; complete with attaching bolts.

requires only two mounting holes for installation.

should be installed on a smooth and level surface.

is made from high grade compound plastic (3″, 5″ and 7″) and aluminium and sheet metal (10″ and 14″).

has all external metal parts plated and, or powdered coated.

has a large and clear sight area providing high visibility.

is available with optional temperature gauge.

Hydraulic Oil Level Gauge with O Ring Sealing

Hydraulic fluid level gauges play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining optimal fluid levels in hydraulic systems. The incorporation of O-ring sealing enhances the reliability and efficiency of these gauges. In this article, we will explore the design considerations, benefits of O-ring sealing, and various applications of hydraulic fluid level gauges.

Hydraulic Oil Level Gauge - Design considerations

  1. Material Selection:

    • The main body of the gauge is typically made from materials like stainless steel or aluminum, providing durability and resistance to corrosion.
  2. Transparent Sight Tube:

    • A transparent sight tube is integral to the design, allowing operators to visually inspect the hydraulic fluid level.
  3. Float Mechanism:

    • The gauge often utilizes a float mechanism that rises and falls with the fluid level, providing a clear indication.
  4. O-Ring Sealing:

    • O-rings, typically made of materials like Nitrile (NBR) or Viton, are employed to seal the connection points and prevent fluid leakage.
  5. Mounting Options:

    • Hydraulic fluid level gauges are designed for various mounting options, including direct mount or via a threaded connection, to suit different system configurations.
  6. Venting Mechanism:

    • To compensate for pressure changes within the hydraulic system, a venting mechanism may be incorporated to prevent pressure build-up in the sight tube.
  7. Scale and Markings:

    • Accurate scale markings on the sight tube facilitate precise fluid level readings, and they might include indicators for minimum and maximum levels.

Benefits of O-Ring Sealing in Hydraulic Oil Level Indicator

  1. Fluid Containment:

    • O-rings provide an effective seal, preventing hydraulic fluid from leaking out and contaminants from entering the system.
  2. Versatility:

    • O-rings are versatile and can withstand a range of temperatures, pressures, and fluid types, making them suitable for diverse hydraulic applications.
  3. Longevity:

    • The use of high-quality O-rings contributes to the longevity of the hydraulic fluid level gauge, reducing maintenance requirements.
  4. Reliability:

    • O-rings are known for their reliability in sealing applications, ensuring that the fluid level readings remain accurate over time.

Applications of Hydraulic Oil Level Gauge

  1. Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs):

    • Hydraulic fluid level gauges are commonly used in HPUs to monitor the oil level, ensuring optimal performance and preventing damage due to insufficient fluid.
  2. Industrial Machinery:

    • Various industrial machines, such as presses, injection molding machines, and metal forming equipment, use hydraulic fluid level gauges to maintain proper fluid levels for efficient operation.
  3. Mobile Equipment:

    • Applications in mobile hydraulic systems, including construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and forestry machinery, where space constraints and reliability are crucial.
  4. Marine Systems:

    • Hydraulic systems in marine applications, including ship steering systems and offshore equipment, benefit from hydraulic fluid level gauges to monitor fluid levels and prevent malfunctions.
  5. Aerospace:

    • Hydraulic systems in aircraft use fluid level gauges with O-ring sealing to ensure the proper functioning of critical components.
  6. Automotive Hydraulics:

    • Hydraulic systems in automobiles, such as power steering systems, rely on fluid level gauges to maintain the required fluid levels for smooth operation.
  7. Process Industries:

    • Industries like chemical processing and manufacturing utilize hydraulic systems, and fluid level gauges play a role in maintaining the integrity of these systems.

Hydraulic fluid level gauges with O-ring sealing are essential components in hydraulic systems, offering accurate and reliable monitoring of fluid levels. The incorporation of O-rings enhances the sealing properties, contributing to the longevity and efficiency of the gauge. The diverse applications in various industries underscore the importance of these gauges in maintaining the optimal performance of hydraulic systems. When selecting a hydraulic fluid level gauge, considerations should be given to the specific requirements of the system, including pressure, temperature, and fluid compatibility.
