Stainless steel annular corrugated metallic flexible hoses are manufactured in austenitic steel ANSI 321, 316, 316L & 304 grades conforming to BS 6501, Part-1. The annular corrugated metallic hose body provided the flexibility and pressure tight core of the assembly. Highly flexible close –pitch hoses are manufactured for special applications

SS Corrugated Bellow hose - Braiding

When pressure is applied, unbraided hose tends to elongate axially; to restrain this, an external layer of SS wire braid is provided. The braid also makes the assembly pressure compatible. Sometimes two or even three layers of braiding are provided for high pressure applications. The braiding is highly flexible and follows the movement of the hose. The braid is normally manufactured in SS 304 wire. However SS 316 and 321 braids can also be manufactured. We also supply wire braid in different configurations as per customer specifications.

  • It has excellent  corrosion resistance. The hose also has good resistance to fire, moisture, abrasion and penetration.

  • The hose compensates whenever there is  thermal expansion of contraction of the piping.
  • Any misalignment problems can be corrected
  • It is a flexible, quick and most preferred alternative where rigid piping is done in difficult locations of a plant.

The End Fittings which can be any of the above depending on the application of the hose is generally fused onto the hose by means of TIG welding which is the most suitable welding type for SS corrugated Bellow hoses.  This again is a skilled process and can be done only by skilled and experienced welders.

The above values apply only to braided hoses and assemblies at ambient temperature of 20 Deg Celsius. The burst pressure is 4 times of the max. working pressure.

Stainless Steel Corrugated Bellow hoses with SS Braiding are used for diluted or concentrated acids, alkalies, liquid ammonia, nitrogen, hydraulic oil, steam, air & water. These are suitable for high pressure and high temperature application and for corrosive conditions.

Construction of SS Corrugated Bellow Hose : The Inner Corrugation is generally made of  SS 321 and the outer wire braiding is made of  SS 304 wire material

Working Pressure : The working pressure of the SS Corrugated Bellow hose varies from  2300 psi for 1/4″ID hose size  to 90 psi for 8″ID hose size

Size Range of hose  : 1/4″ ID to 8″ ID.

Temperature Range of Hose :   The SS corrugated Bellow hose can be used for a temperature range of     – 196 Deg C to upper side temperature of  + 600 Deg C

The SS Braided Corrugated Bellow Hose assemblies are generally used extensively in Refineries , Power Plants , Steel Plants , Nuclear Installations, Fertilizer Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry, Cryogenic Services ,Chemical Industry , Boilers , Paper Plants , Lubrication Systems, Automotive Industry, Steam Hot water Pneumatic Services ,Vacuum Systems ,Air Conditioning & Refrigeration ,Ports & Ship Yards, Defense Industry, Piping, Vibration Absorption ,Railways.

In order to get satisfactory service and long life from stainless steel flexible hose, the hoses assembly should be installed in the proper manner.  Sharp bending the  hose assembly, especially near the end fittings where welding has been done,  mounting of the hose in a twisted and stressed manner and excessive fatigue are main causes of early failure.
